Kasra Hosseini

Kasra is a Senior Applied Scientist specialising in Machine Learning and AI. He holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from LMU Munich. Following his PhD, Kasra joined the University of Oxford as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, where he focused on inverse theory and interactive data visualisation. He is currently working on Multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs), with applications in AI assistance, information retrieval, and large-scale systems evaluation. Prior to this, Kasra worked at the Alan Turing Institute, where he planned and developed machine learning solutions in areas such as natural language processing and computer vision, with applications ranging from plant phenotyping to conservation intelligence. With over 14 years of experience in software engineering and applied science across industry, open-source projects, and academia—including hands-on geophysical fieldwork—Kasra is committed to advancing the mission of the Earth Rover Program.
